Enhancement Detail
Ideal for people wanting to transform their car back to brand new, on a budget, and in a short time frame.
Deep clean and decontamination
This package all starts with the fundamentals: deep cleaning and decontamination of the exterior. That includes removing the wheels to access and deep clean the arch areas behind them, such as arch liners, suspension components and the brake assembly, and thoroughly cleaning the wheel barrels and faces. The engine bay is gently cleaned and dried back to a factory finish.
The bodywork is then pre washed and rinsed off, removing as much debris as possible without contact, before a thick layer of snow foam is applied and left to dwell while it eats away at embedded dirt. All crevices, gaps and door shuts are brushed and wiped out before the snow foam is rinsed off and a contact wash is carried out using the two bucket method.
Once the contact wash is complete, chemical decontamination takes place. A fallout remover eats into bonded contaminants, then glue and tar remover takes care of any stubborn tar spots, before finally clay barring all the bodywork, ensuring the paintwork is fully decontaminated and ready to be machine polished.
Machine polishing and protection
Once inside, the car goes up on the full height scissor ramp, so all areas of bodywork can be inspected from every angle. That decides the best combination to remove swirls and light scratches and enhance the paintwork.
Gtechniq C2v4 ceramic sealant is then applied to all bodywork. All glass is polished and coated using the Gyeon Q2M View system, for wiper free driving in the rain.
Interior
To finish off, the interior receives a thorough vacuum and wipe down, including all interior glass and door shuts.
Ceramic Coating Detail
All of the key stages of the enhancement detail, with the added time to correct more defects and apply long term ceramic protection.
Correction and coating
The ceramic coating detail has all of the key stages of the enhancement detail, but with added timescale to allow for some extra machine polishing work: to remove more defects and deeper scratches, degreasing and panel wiping all surfaces, and coating applications.
That includes applying Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light ceramic coating to all bodywork. All glass is then polished and coated using a glass specific ceramic coating.
The wheels are removed again to ceramic coat those inside and out, along with painted brake calipers, suspension parts and arch liners. This not only protects those areas long term, it makes them far easier to clean moving forward.
Interior
An interior valet is also included in the package, and an add on of interior protection can be carried out, where all interior surfaces such as leather, fabrics, carpets and trims are protected with Gtechniq interior specific protection.
Timescale
For this package the car is required to be with me for a total of four days, to allow the work to be carried out and the coatings to fully cure.
Paint Protection Film
PPF is a thin, transparent or satin finish urethane layer applied to a vehicle's exterior to guard the paint against stone chips, scratches, bug splatters and UV damage.

How it is installed
All PPF is installed by in house XPEL certified installers, using the latest, proven and adjusted XPEL patterns. That gives a virtually invisible install with wrapped edges where possible, and zero bulk installation, which means no cutting on the car.

What is the difference between car detailing and a car wash?
A car wash cleans the surface. Detailing corrects and protects it. SMC Detailing decontaminates the paint, machine polishes out swirls and scratches, then seals the finish with a ceramic coating or paint protection film. Is paint protection film worth it?
Paint protection film is the only product that physically stops stone chips. SMC Detailing fits XPEL Ultimate Plus and XPEL Stealth as in house certified installers, with a 10 year installer guarantee. A ceramic coating adds gloss and chemical resistance but will not prevent impact damage, so many customers combine the two.
What is included in an enhancement detail?
The enhancement detail is £500 plus VAT and includes a full decontamination with the wheels removed, an engine bay clean, machine polishing to remove swirls and light scratches, Gtechniq C2v4 sealant on all bodywork, Gyeon Q2M View on the glass, and an interior vacuum and wipe down.
Do you offer a courtesy car while my car is being detailed?
Yes. SMC Detailing provides a free courtesy car for the duration of your booking. An enhancement detail is a short turnaround, while ceramic coating work takes four days, so you are not left without transport.
